A Chinese famille rose vase, late Qing or Republic, painted with scholars in a bamboo landscape, the figures grouped into three, indulging in the 'Four Arts'; chess, the zither, calligraphy and painting, the neck inscribed with a short paragraph dedicated to the scene with two seals, flanked with two 'Ruyi' handles, mouth rim gilded, six character iron red Daoguang seal mark to the base. 32 cm high
