A Carlton ware 'Paradisebird' temple jar, third quarter 20th century, unidentified decoration pattern, body shape 130 (reissue), painted with a single flying bird and butterflies around Chinese-style flowering shrubbery, a variant of the 'Paradisebird' pattern, on a 'Rouge Royale' ground, the conforming cover with the gilt sitting Buddhist lion finial, impressed and later version printed 'script' marks underside. Height 37.5 cm.
