1925 British Arctic Expedition: Signed photograph of Gordon Burt, endorsed at base 'British Arctic Expedition 1925', framed & glazed, overall 21 x 30 cm. (Gordon Burt, 1899-1945 was born in Dunedin NZ, and copleted an engineering apprenticeship in the family firm of A&T Burt. In 1925 he joined the British Arctic Expedition as Chief Engineer. Soon after he went to Singapore, and worked for the Shell Company. He joined the Singapore Volunteer Armoured Car Company and was awarded the Obe in January 1942. He was a Pow of the Japanese and died in Muntok Pow camp in January 1945)
