A 'blanc de chine' a equestrian group, 18th century, of Wen Chang the God of Literature riding on his horse, accompanied by his male and female servants, the god wearing his scholar's robe and high hat seated astride the horse with tasselled bridle and trappings, the servants of much smaller stature standing to either side of the rockwork base dressed in tunics and pantaloons carrying their master's writing materials and books, 22 cm high
