Highly important Australian racing, theme silver desk set by J M Wendt, with a central covered well, modelled as a horse head and shoe, flanked by bucket shaped removable glass inkwells, with jockey cap and whip covers, before a pen tray, the body with engraved brickwork and raised on leaf capped hoof feet. Marks: applied plaque to well J.M. Wendt / Adelaide. Loaded weight but without inkwells: 965 grams. Length 27 cm. Provenance: Vizard Foundation. 2001 Geelong Exhibition no 46.
