Australian silver shooting trophy cup, with gilt washed bowl and deep body, decorated with a selection of oval cartouches emblematic of Industry and Colonisation interspersed by exotic trees and landscape, the central cartouche with inscription: V.V. Engineer rifle club/ Presented/ by/ Surgeon Major James/ Won by/ Sapper W. W. Bennett/ with the following/ scores/ Enfield 1876 70 points/ Martini 1877 - 86 / Martini 1877 with 90/ Conditions 400, 500 and 600 Yards/ 7 shots at each distance, resting on triform supports as three slung rifles, on a stepped circular base etched with leaves and vines.
