Important and early silver & emu egg Farmer's cup by William Edwards, with gilt washed bowl, the silver collar inscribed: Farmers cup won at Broadmeadows Races March 3rd 1860 by Mr John MacKintosh's Rover, capped body below resting on a natural modelled stem on heavily embossed lobed foot. Marks: (emu) We (kangaroo) ref Jbh no 109. Combined weight:245 grams. Height 17.5 cm. Together with an embossed leather riding crop, with wicker style grip set with brass studs, the shaft with horse race scenes, marked to end 'J.F.'.
