Silver Adelaide Hunt club Races ewer by J M Wendt, of classical ewer form with inverted spout and elongated loop handle with flared body, bearing the inscription: 'Adelaide Hunt club Races/ 1895/ Drag cup/ Presented by J.M. Wendt Esq/ won by/ Mr George C Braund's little Lad/ ridden by/ Mr A.E. Braund/ 10 St 9 Lbs', resting on a short pillar and stepped circular base. Marks: Jm Wendt / Adelaide (Victoria) (Crown) (lion passant) ref Jbh no 233 & 234. Weight: 760 grams. Height 39 cm. Provenance: Vizard Foundation. 2001 Geelong Exhibition no 45. Notes: It is interesting to note that Wendt himself presented this cup, perhaps in appreciation of his long standing relationship with the Adelaide Hunt club.
