Australian silver presentation trowel, the tapered blade with foliate engraved decoration bearing the inscription: 'Presented/ to/ Mrs H bell/ on her laying the/ Foundation stone/ of/ St Peter's Schools/ Sydney/ Oct.r 26th/ 1872 (lacking handle). Marks: unmarked. Weight: 80 grams; length 15.5 cm. Provenance: Vizard Foundation. Notes: This trowel very likely relates to the school still standing on church Street St Peters.
