Impressive Victoria fountain silver presentation claret jug by Edwards, modelled as a classical wine ewer, the heavily chased body decorated with swags of flower heads and fruit, with double 'C' scroll handle, bearing twin inscriptions: 'Presented by/ Mr & Mrs H S Walsh/ to their Grandson/ Henry Bowring Walsh/ 16th January 1877' the other: 'Presented/ by the/ Members of the city Council/ to/ Mrs Walsh/ the Wife of the Rt Worshipful the Mayor of Melbourne/ Henry S Walsh Esqr/ on the occasion of the opening the first ornamental street fountain/ erected by the corporation/ 9th August 1859', the squat bulbous body decorated to one side with the coat of arms of the city of Melbourne the reverse with the raised image of the fountain, all resting on a profusely decorated foot.
