The silver St Kilda sailing trophy by Moss and Caspar, retailed by Walsh & Sons, in the form of a chalice, with a circular cartouche engraved with a harbour scene and British Royal armorial and: 'St Kilda/ Aura Favente Fero', raised on a stepped beaded foot, underneath engraved: 'St Kilda Amateur Sailing Match Won By Bulldog May 8th 1875 From a Few Friends'. Notes: This object is recorded in JBH 'Australian Silver 1800-1900' pp 109, the St Kilda motto translates to 'Born on a Favouring Breeze' in 1841 the schooner the lady of St Kilda moored for an extended period off the beach and hence gave its name to the area.
