Rare Martin Boyd bowl dated 1948, Painted by Elaine Wilson, a senior designer with Martin Boyd potteries from 1945. The design is believed to be taken from a set of Ballet costume designs by Sidney Nolan, for a Ballet company visiting at that time. Sidney Nolan had a close association with the Boyd family as he married Mary Boyd later in his life. (rim chip & firing fault, regarded by the Potteries as a second)
