A Chinese lacquered and painted lady's travelling toilet box, second quarter 20th century, the hinged top enclosing a mirror above a removable tray fitted with a hair brush and two removable boxes (and formerly a comb) flanked by two small hinged-top compartments, a shallow drawer below, all upper surfaces painted with rural Chinese scenes with applied ivorine details. Height 10 cm. Width 39 cm. Depth 23.5 cm.
