A large Chinese pottery model of a seated dog, Han Dynasty (206BC - 220AD). seated on its haunches with its short tail curled tightly upwards, the neck encircled by a collar, the removable head with lop ears raised, the eyes set in a mournful expression accentuated by the overhanging jowls. Height 67.5 cm. The dating of this piece is consistent with Oxford Authentication thermoluminescence analysis report, sample no. C107x97
