Tumbler, Irish, c. 1820, cut with flat flutes, engraved with the initials 'Er' between laurel branches and two birds in flight and an ear of wheat, height 9 cm. c. f. Illustrated in English and Irish Glass 1690-1840. The Rex Ebbott Collection., plate 16, no 121. Provenance: Rex Ebbott Estate, Melbourne 1991; together with a Tumbler, c. 1860, etched with a ship in full sail and a ribbon with 'Souvenir De Royan Les Bains Ll Grand Bazar De Paris La Ville De Paris.' height 9 cm, Note the spelling 'Ll' which is most likely an error for 'Le' Provenance: Howard Phillips London, 1989; and a Tumbler/Spill Vase, French, straight sided, engraved with a young woman at a tomb against which rests a shield with the initials 'Bw'; cut with fine finger flutes at the base.
