Rare press Reception invitation signed by the Beatles on 'High Commission For Australia, Australia House, London, WC2' headed paper' inviting 'Mr H. Macdonald' to attend a 'Press Reception in Australia House, Strand. W.C.2., on Wednesday 22nd April, 1964 When the Beatles Will Call to Pay Their Respects Prior to Their Visit to Australia.', signed boldly in blue ink by all four Beatles, mounted in common frame with six black and white press photographs of the Beatles taken during the reception, framed overall 94 cm x 105 cm other notes, the signatures were obtained by Harold Macdonald, private Secretary to the Australian high Commissioner the Rt. Hon. Sir Eric Harrison, they were given to his 16 year old daughter Gillian who was desperate to meet the Beatles. However, her father produced an 'Official Letter' that was attached to the invitation stating that daughters of attendees would not be admitted to the function!
