Rare pre European Maori stone carved God stone sinker (mahe) or Ballast stone, circa 17th to 18th century.two lobed sinker with old hour glass shaped hole and beautifully carved figure on top. Found on Rangitoto Island about 1900 by John Jessop Snr, Jessop was interested in salt mines. Height 7 cm, width 9 cm
