London longcase clock, circa 1720s, silvered and brass dial signed ‘Joseph Barnes, London’ with subsidiary 'Strike/Silent' seconds chapter and date aperture. The Pagoda top case is hand painted in the Chinoiserie style. This style of case was traditionally made in England, transported to China for painting, then returned to be fitted with a clock and sold on the domestic market. Includes original pendulum, winder and weights. Movement has been cleaned and oiled. 235 x 46 x 24 cm
