Description:
A large and impressive silver cup and cover, the cylindrical body heavily chased and engraved panels depicting flowers and foliage, the cover embossed with ten similar foliate panels. Two acanthus capped scroll handles issue from the sides, the cover with a ball finial of unfurling acanthus leaves, the cup raised on a low domed foot of serpentine outline conforming to the cup. Stamped under the foot 'Carrington & Co., 130 Regent Street, London W22309' and scratch engraved 'Copy of Gold Cup, Date 1675'. Hallmarked for Carrington & Co., London 1912. Weight 2330gms. Height 27 cm
