An important Chinese scroll painting, ink and slight colour on paper, 'Running Horse', inscribed, (?'My strong legs are used for running the whole day in search of grass'); dated, early Spring 1948, with one artists seal, 'Xu Bei Hong Zhi Ha'. Provenance: A private Tasmanian collection; purchased in Beijing, November 1958, at The International Bookshop, Chun wen men, Suzhou Hutong No38,. (see sales doc attached to the scroll mount). The shop sold books, paintings and curios. It was passed on to a family member in the early 1980's as a gift.
