A Japanese black lacquer, ivory and mother of pearl inlaid panel Meiji period (1868-1912), possibly set within a Chinese frame, the rectangular blue lacquered panel depicting a scene of various birds in flight amongst a spray of foliate vines and floral blooms, the whole overlaid in mother of pearl, ivory, horn and further applied lacquered motifs, set within a timber frame with ivory inlaid cloud motifs, 57 x 88 cm (the panel).
