A Japanese Totai Jippo tree bark floor vase Meiji period (1868-1912), circa 1875, the ovoid vase with receded shoulder and wide rimmed neck formed as a highly detailed wired cloisonne scene depicting a waterside scene of cranes, herons, ducks and other water fowl amongst a background of blossoming foliage all within a textured tree bark reserve on a porcelain ground, surmounted by a wide banded collar displaying repeated stylised geometrical and butterfly motifs, 74 cm high
