An English gilt metal mounted scarlet tortoiseshell cased bracket clock signed John Taylor, London, circa 1780, the quarter striking triple fusee verge escapement on eight bells, with an enamelled Roman numeral dial and subsidiary calendar and silent/strike dials within a bright-cut brass surround, the arched rectangular case applied with foliate cast gilt metal mounts beneath a domed pagoda top with an urn finial, (some discolouration to tortoiseshell in places), 45.5 cm high.
