A fine George III rosewood and mahogany crossbanded sofa table, circa 1800, the rounded rectangular top with fields of rosewood within broad borders of mahogany and rosewood cross-banding and ebony and boxwood stringing, the frieze with a pair of real drawers opposed by a pair of conforming false drawer fronts, raised on shaped end standards joined by a flat stretcher on out-swept legs terminating in brass caps and castors, the frieze and supports strung with boxwood and ebony throughout, 151 x 71 x 69 cm (extended)
