A Japanese gilt lacquer, ivory and Shibiyama figure of a geisha Meiji period, the standing figure with carved ivory head, hair comb, hands holding a peony, feet and sandals, her tinted hair held by a hair comb and a silver and mother-of-pearl flower hair pin, her richly gilt lacquer kimono decorated with scattered fans and inlaid with mother-of-pearl, a coloured purse and shell buckle, 40 cm high
