An Australian cedar and rose mahogany gentleman's press by Andrew Lenehan, circa 1843, the central section with a pair of rose mahogany panelled doors enclosing shelves above five long drawers, flanked by pointed arched cupboard doors enclosing hanging space and shoe drawers with brass countersunk handles, raised on a cross-banded plinth base, with original J. Duce locks, with maker's label to top drawer; 'Lenehan's/Cabinet/And/Upholstery/Establishment/Castlereagh Street/Sydney', 264 cm wide, 72 cm deep, 210 cm high. Note: a similar wardrobe, circa 1855, also by Lenehan in rose mahogany with arched panelled doors can be seen at old Government house, Parramatta.
