An Australian Federal Convention banquet menu, circa 1898, the banquet was given by the mayor of Melbourne, Councillor Malcolm D. McEacharn, at, the Town Hall on Thursday 20th January 1898, printed by Sands & McDougall. Note: It appears that, the meeting held in Melbourne in 1898 was perhaps, the last one finalising, the requirements of the constitution (1901), however this appears to be, the meeting which is referred to as a last-minute bid to save Federation at which, the premiers met in Melbourne to discuss more changes to, the draft Constitution. This meeting became know as the Secret Premiers Conference because its proceedings were not published
