Description:
A Chinese bronze bell 18th century, the body joining an ornamental Crown, decorated in a horizontal pattern of three knobs, separated into three horizontal decorative bands. One vertical band separating, the knob groups at the centre in both, the front and the back., the front with high relief marking of (Dacu Si) indicating, the tone of the bell, and (Guishan Xian Xue), possibly indicating that the bell used to be, the property of a Confucius temple, called Guishan Xian Xue, in the present day Guangdong provence, the back with, remarking that the bell was made in the winter of 1738, the third year of Qianlong reign.
