A George III ebonised table clock, Stephen Rimbault, London, circa 1760, 6 1/2 inch (16 cm) dial with foliate and mask head spandrels, calendar aperture, mock pendulum aperture, signed 'Step. Rimbault, London', strike/silent dial in arch, pull repeat on bells, double fusee movement with converted verge to anchor escapement, the backplate engraved with scrolling foliage, inverted bell top case with brass carrying handle, glazed apertures to front and back, the side apertures with brass and fabric inserts 46 cm high
