A vintage photograph of the 'Greatest Forward M. J. Brownlie' with this printed detail below his image wearing an all black jersey. 44.5 x 22 cm note; Brownlie was one of the first names Colin Meads mentioned when accepting his award as player of the entire 20th century, he held him in great esteem. Brownlie played a major part in the 1920's tour with the Invincibles and was Captain of the 1928 first all black Tour of South Africa. in 1921 Brownlie was the 1921 runner-up New Zealand amateur heavyweight boxing champion.
