A fine quality mid 19th century cedar and rose mahogany cellaret, circa 1860, probably New South Wales, the sarcophagus body beneath a hinged, tapering rectangular cover with a leaf carved finial with corn husk borders and brass capped corners, opening to a lead lined interior, raised on a gadrooned plinth base and boldly carved rose mahogany lion's paw feet (modern castors), cedar carcass, 77.5 x 96 x 77.5 cm.
