A lacquer kogo of rounded rectangular form, early Edo, 17/18th century, decorated with gold and silver hiramaki-e lotus seed pods on a dark brown and nashiji ground, the interior with stylised humming birds and floral sprays, the rims pewter, 8.5 cm x 6.8 cm x 2.4 cm.
