A fine ivory netsuke of a seated tiger, attributed to Mitsuharu, Kyoto School, mid-18th century looking back with its paws resting on a node of bamboo, the eyes inlaid with dark horn, unsigned. Provenance: Barry Davies Netsuke Through Three Centuries, p 52, no.45. 'The style of Mitsuharu is unmistakable' writes Davies, *note that this piece originally had a signature which has been removed.
