An outstanding 19th century boulle centre table, the shaped top of serpentine outline with scarlet tortoiseshell and cut brass inlay together with mother of pearl inlay of ho-ho bird, banded with gadrooned ormolu the serpentine frieze with gilt metal lions head mounts and drawer with lions head escutcheon, raised on cabriole legs each with ormolu lions head mounts and sabots. Provenance: Purchased in 1906 by notable Melbourne family and is presently owned by their descendants.
