1960 Rome Olympics, bronze medal awarded to John Konrads for Third place in the 4 x 200 metres men's Freestyle Relay; with bronze metal wreath with the name of the sport 'Nuoto' (swimming) designed by Giuseppe Cassioli, minted by Artistice Fiorenti in Florence and in the original green case of presentation. Also Diploma: 'Giochi Della Xvii Olimpiade, Diploma', awarded to 'John Konrads, Comitato Olimpico Australiano, Medaglia Di Bronzo, Staffetta Stile Libero 4 Per 200 M Uomini', with printed signatures of Avery Brundage (IOC President) and Giulio Andreotti (President of the Organising Committee), size 65 x 56 cm. in the 4 x 200m freestyle relay, Konrads combined with Devitt, rose and David Dickson to claim a bronze medal behind the United States and Japan, the Australians had set a world record in training prior to the Olympics, but without Jon Henricks, who had withdrawn due to illness, they were not able to keep pace with the Americans who reclaimed the world record.
