Anaha Te Rahui (1822-1913), superb 19th century ngati tarawhai figure-supported bowl, the carved bowl supported by the outstretched arms of two crouching figures, each superbly rendered with rauponga, triple h'h' and pakati notching, the chin of each figure resting on the bowl rim with their protruding tongues holding the lid in place, the lid finely carved with two Maori chiefs wrestling; each chief balanced on outstretched legs with heads placed together and armsßinterlocked.
