18th century 3 - inch Reflecting telescope, Fisher Combes, London, maker brass body tube with focusing adjustments on tapering pillar support and tripod stand, cabriole legs and inswept feet. The dust cap with maker's trade label pasted on the inside, illustrating a mariner using a back staff and decorated with other instruments, and inscribed Fisher Combes at ye Mariner and globe in broad Street, near ye Angel and Crown Tavern, behind ye Royal Exchange, Maketh and Selleth all Sorts of Mathematical Instruments London and a fine example. Length 44 cm
