18th century telescope and ó inch lens, octagonal mahogany tube with turned brass eyepiece and dust slide intact. Length 35 cm retracted, 59 cm extended offered with a copy of Captain Cook, Navigator and Scientist by G.M. Badger, Anu press, 1970 the cover of which illustrates the John Webber portrait showing Capn. Cook holding a similar instrument.
