A superb Chinese porcelain panel. Hand painted in enamels with a celestial garden scene in which the god of longevity Shao Lao arrives upon the back of a stag, welcomed by Deified monarchs, nobles and generals along with an accompanying entourage of musicians, children and danvers. The extensive scene includes numerous Daoist entities in the walled garden which is strewn with rocky outcrops and grottoes, pavilions and temples. Four character seal mark in iron red and gild at lower left translated to ‘Qian Long Period Made’ and artist’s signature in oval cartouche, upper right. 32 cm x 583, reduced on the right border
