A Pair of Bilston Enamel and Brass Curtain Ties Commemorating the Battle of the Nile Late 18th/Early 19th century Circular, one painted with the likeness of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, bearing the inscription 'Adml. Ld. Nelson'; the other painted with Nelson's flagship, Hms Vanguard and inscribed 'Admiral Nelson, Vanguard, 74 Guns, Augst. 1st 1798', each within a turned brass surround, screw attachment, 6.5 cm diameter. Note: a similar single brass and enamel example and a further brass example are held in the collection of the British National Maritime Museum
