A pair of Kutane figures, Meiji, circa 1880, the standing figures depicted as masked actors, he holding a wooden rake, his outer kimono enamelled and gilded with scrolling cloud and panels of stylised chrysanthemums, his undergarments enamelled with striated bands, 'She' holding a straw broom, her outer kimono with restrained gilded cloud pattern, her undergarents with pine cone pattern on rich cobalt and green ground. 32 cm high, 29 cm high respectively
