A pair of Japanese Imari vases, ovoid shape with trumpet neck, scalloped rim and two handles at the shoulder. Each decorated with panels framed by sinuous dragons and ho-ho birds depicting the emperor and empress beneath a maple tree. A profusion of florals in bright enamels decorate the remainder of the vase. Traditional iron red and cobalt blue stylised florals decorate the mouth and foot of the vases. One restored. Six character mark under the base. Height 41 cm
