Stawell: An Early Original Document beautifully Hand Written on Vellum, concerning the amalgamation of a number of small mines and miners in the Pleasant Creek Reef Mining Area (Stawell), 'Indenture, 18th Day of July 1868, Harry Mitchell, Samuel John Davidson, George Barry....Matthew Dixon, Mary Barnes - The Extended Cross Reef Quartz Mining Company Shareholders Register'. Signatures and witness signatures numbering 159, with wax seals applied to the documents. 10 double sided pages forming and laying out the agreement followed by 5 pages with lists of signatures of early 'hard rock' miners, mine owners, shareholders and prominent local citizens. Individual miners with claims were agreeing to come together and create a No Liability Mining Claim, i.e. The Forming of the Company. An historic, very early document of this kind
