A small Miner's Windlass. This one made in the classic bush Miner's style with a short bush timber with loose iron collars on each end. The timber would have been cut to size when the Miner got to the Goldfield and the handle and iron rings would have been fitted. The collars would have gone over green timber and over time the wood has dried and shrunk and they have become loose. 166 cm long
