A George III period silver egg cruet, London 1816 by William Burwash. With six urn shaped egg cups with echinus rims supported within an oblong frame raised on four neo-classical pilasters terminating in claw feet all united by a gadroon patterned oblong frame, the top section similarly bordered and with shell and acanthus mouldings. A removable handle issues from the centre of the upper section. Six egg spoons of later assay, Birmingham 1923, accompany the cruet. 19 cm x 13 cm.
