An Australian cedar circular pedestal breakfast table, Joseph Sly, circa 1840, with rope carved edge, triform platform and lion paw feet on casters, stamped to underside twice J. Sly 107 cm diameter, 71 cm high. Provenance: William Ellenden Auctions, Wentworth Avenue, Sydney, 22 March 1991. Reputedly the table came to the vendors family (Mrs Grant Campbell) by descent from her aunt, Elsie Dora Fairfax, nee cape born 17/1/1874.
