Roger K. Furse (English 1903-1972), a pair of watercolour sketches for costume designs for the ballet ‘The Prospect Before Us’, first performed at Sadler's Wells, London 1940. Roger Furse was a celebrated stage designer and painter; a frequent collaborator with Laurence Olivier, Furse won two Oscars in 1948 for his art direction and costume design for Olivier's ‘Hamlet’.
