A silver mounted claret jug by H. Woodward & Co. Birmingham 1882. The cylindrical body flaring towards the foot, ornately cut with diamond trellis patterns and vertical fluting, the silver collar ornately embossed with fruiting vines and masks, the spout formed as a mask. The hinged lid similarly decorated with a finial modelled as a lion rampant holding an armorial shield. The shield engraved with a demi lion rampant proper. The scroll handle engraved with conforming vine decoration. Height 27.5 cm.
