Qi Baishi' (1864-1957), Chinese. Shrimp. Watercolour on paper on silk scroll. Signed and inscribed with poetry. 134 x 34 cm. Qi Baishi is a noted painter for his whimsical, playful style. He was influenced by the Qing Dynasty painter Bada Shanren and the Ming Dynasty painter Xu Wei. He painted mostly animals, shrimp being amongst his favourite.
