A very large cloisonne vase, early 20th century silver yusen mark of Ando workshop in silver wire and coloured enamels with a continuous design of strands of chrysanthemums on a cobalt blue ground, the foot and rim with stiff leaf jungin (pure silver). Height 42 cm. Note: the chrysanthemum is a significant symbol in Japanese Art, being the crest of the Imperial Family.
